Annually since 2005, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has contracted Healthy Housing Solutions to develop the curricula and training materials and secure nationally-known plenary speakers and highly qualified faculty members to facilitate two five-day National Healthy Homes/Lead Poisoning Prevention Training Centers per year.
The trainings are offered to CDC-funded state and city Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) employees who are new to their programs and/or to lead poisoning prevention.The four training track topics, with six modules in each, include Primary Prevention, Program Management, Case Management, and Data and Surveillance. Staff of CDC-funded CLPPP, their sub-grantees, and other state and local staff involved in childhood lead poisoning prevention activities are eligible to attend the training.Training participants receive certificates of course completion. Continuing education credits are available upon request through Ohio Nurses Association.
